As temperatures cool down in Los Angeles the early Fall flowers start appearing. Here are a few of my favorites:

Rudbeckia is commonly known as Black Eyed Susan. Rudbeckia is both heat and drought-tolerant and is therefore a great choice for growing in Southern California. Johnny Seeds stock a beautiful array of rudbeckia seeds in their online store.

Chrysanthemum are available in beautiful Fall shades; orange, yellow, reds.

Celosia. I recently purchased some beautiful champagne colored celosia from Gather Flora LA. Celosia is also available in mustard/gold, fierce orange tones and pinks.

Miscanthus is a a beautiful grass (I’m lucky enough to grow in my garden here in Sherman Oaks). The foliage is silver green with soft brown grass heads. I often use them in flower bouquets but also seasonal holiday wreaths too.
